The Challenge
After the success of the thermo set, YUUNI approached us to rethink one of their most essential categories: basic tops and shirts. Until then, these garments were made from polyester and sourced from China. The goal was to improve softness, breathability, and sustainability, while keeping the feminine YUUNI look and price point. The challenge lay in developing a better material base and localizing production, without losing the comfort or fit that YUUNI customers had come to expect.
Our Solution
We developed a completely new line of super-soft basics using a high-quality MODAL fabric — chosen for its natural feel, breathability, and low environmental impact. Once again, we collaborated with our trusted partner: a fully integrated German textile mill in the Schwäbische Alb. Our team of tailors designed the pieces and then together with our manufacturing partner, we refined the pattern, selected colorways, and worked through fit samples to get the balance between drape and softness just right.
The final collection includes minimalist tanks, tees, and long-sleeves that elevate the idea of basics — made in Germany from better materials, with improved comfort, and a reduced footprint compared to the polyester-based originals.
