Book Charms for Penn Cole's “Burn of the Everflame”

Design and small-series production of a handcrafted charm collection for 'Burn of the Everflame' (Kindred's Curse Saga, Book 4) — four sculptural designs made from leftover materials of our handbag production, finished with gold-tone hardware.

  • Project Challenge:

Book merchandise usually means printed totes and bookmarks. For a New York Times bestselling fantasy saga defined by fire, the brief demanded more: accessories that translate beloved characters and motifs into sculptural, luxury-grade pieces — instantly recognizable to fans, yet elegant enough to live on a premium handbag long after the book tour ends.

  • Project Solution:

We designed four charms that capture the saga's fire aesthetic in cut and stitched vegan materials — crafted entirely from leftover materials of our handbag production: a three-dimensional dragon with textured bouclé underwings and embroidered ember eyes; a phoenix built from layered suede flames in burgundy and blazing orange; a sculptural fire blossom folded from burgundy leather alternative with a suede-fringe core; and a miniature replica of the book cover as a pendant. Each piece is cut, folded and hand-stitched in our Mannheim atelier and finished with gold-tone hardware to pair with premium handbags.

Project Development

When a story is loved this much, readers want to carry it with them. For “Burn of the Everflame” — Book Four of Penn Cole's New York Times bestselling Kindred's Curse Saga — we designed and handcrafted a collection of book charms and bag pendants in a collaboration between MELINA BUCHER, Penn Cole and Atria Books (Simon & Schuster). The collection brings the saga's world into everyday life: a dragon in flight (gryvern "Sorae"), a phoenix rising in flames, a blooming flower ("flameroot") , and a miniature replica of the book itself.

Design inspired by The Kindred's Curse Saga and officially licensed by the author, Penn Cole.
